My last espresso machine made good coffee but was full of hard-to-clean nooks and crannies, not to mention a brew group that needed to be partly disassembled to get at the filter screens. Ergo, it didn't get cleaned as often and the coffee suffered.

Now, a couple of decades later, this machine is a dream come true. Makes perfect coffee, crema and all, and pretty much cleans itself; I slide out some parts, give them a quick rinse and I'm done. Sometime in the future it will ask me to run a cleaning cycle with proprietary cleaning tablets, change the proprietary water filter, and use a proprietary milk system cleaner. Not cheap, but this kind of coffee is a luxury item and proper maintenance is worth it.

I haven't yet tried any of the milk-related features, partly because the documentation is somewhat lacking. Reading between the lines, I think I can figure out how to connect the milk. I'll get around to it when a guest wants a cappuccino.

I was relieved to find that I can still swap beans by putting them in the hopper only as needed; in the afternoon I switch to decaf.

And kudos to Cerini Coffee, who've taken good care of my extended family for decades and got me this wonderful machine much faster than I expected.
